Emily+David | Heights House Wedding Photos | Raleigh, North Carolina

We’re off! We started off the 2026 wedding season this past weekend with a great one that I am excited to share with you all!

When I first met with Emily and David, they were planning a little backyard shindig at David’s mom’s house. Eventually, that morphed into having a wedding at the beautiful Heights House in Raleigh. Luckily we were still able to use Davids mom’s house for the engagement photos – which of course included beloved Gouda the dog, who would make an appearance at the wedding (as a cut out!)

The couple’s journey began with a hockey puck. A co-worker invited Emily to a game and mentioned that the guy who got the tickets, David obviously, had some extras and was “super chill” so no need to pay him, but to just buy him a beer. So Emily walked in doubling fisting and David immediately asked “who’s that?”….. and that leads us to this special day!

The day they tied the knot was a beautiful early North Carolina spring weather day, allowing their sweet ceremony, officiated by their close friend Madison to be out in the sunshine. Emily’s beautiful bouquet had a quiet place of honor on the seat David’s late father would have been in. Cocktail hour was oysters and laughter, leading into dinner and toasts and happy tears. The evening was filled with cake, joy and a robust dance party (David showed off his MJ moves big time), and David and Emily ended their fantastic wedding night with a two- attempt sparkler exit!

The day was low key in expectations and worries, high in joy and easy personalities— highlighted by David losing his pants and almost needing to sub them out or Winnie-the Pooh it. Two pals came to the rescue, the pants were found, and the story was shared widely during the wedding!
