Originally from Baltimore, I moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina for my one true love, Timber the Great Dane….and his person who happens to now be my wife. I’m an outdoor guy, have been rock climbing my whole life and love the mountains. I’m a huge animal person- if you have a pup you bet they’ll be the star of the show right there with you! I started photographing when someone who believed in me threw a camera into my hand and trusted me— which gave me the freedom to develop my own style in combination with the natural talent I was told I had.
I love capturing the “moments in between” candidly right alongside the big ones and delivering images that hold the raw emotions that you were feeling in that snapshot. Whether I’m photographing your wedding, engagement or “day in the life,” you’ll find that my fun, silly personality will help you just be yourself and let the genuine moments become lasting memories!
Jelena, the Serbian Waffle. The love of my life and my biggest inspiration for chasing this dream of photographing connection. She’s a NICU Nurse (aka a Super Hero), an artist (check her out! Scraps of Jel), and all around best napper. But long story short, this life thing is a whole lot more fun with her by my side.
…PS she is the behind the scenes of this photography thing and often my assistant.
Timber aka Big Pop. My true soulmate and my wife loves it.
Della aka The Beef – if for some reason I am not being responsive…. It is most likely because I am chasing this monster around because she thinks my keyboard is a chew toy.
Raven aka Foonie – she started as our foster dog through the Great Dane rescue we volunteer with…but we fell in love and realized she was a permanent family member
Oh, we also have seven chickens… and one of them is named Asparagus….
We’re a little weird and chaotic, but we make it work.
I got sober at 19, and my whole life shifted. I went from having nothing and no one to being surrounded by other people who understood me, what I had gone through, and connected with me on a deep level. In recovery I have learned that we as humans all share a desire to connect- through friendships, family, and romantic relationships. The connections we build are unique, priceless, and often quite tangible to see in photographs….that’s where I come in. I love to capture images that show the raw connection shared between people. I want you to receive your images from me and be able to feel the emotion that was happening while I snapped the picture— whether that’s the happy tears during vows, a gasp during a first look, or a laugh while boogie-ing on the dance floor. I want to stop these moments in time for you to relive over and over again.
