Generally when I have a wedding, I make it a big priority to get to know the couple before the big day. With Rachel and Tim I was lucky enough to have already known them both (as a couple and even before they were a couple) for quite some time and from a common journey we have trudged. So when it came to documenting this day, I had a good understanding of the two of them…. and of some of the people closest to and most important to them. I always look for the connections, soft moments, and the puzzle pieces of two families becoming one- and Rachel and Tim’s day was full of these moments to capture. Josh, who is a big part of Rachel’s life, was a spotlight of a good majority of the day with many people referring to him being their favorite person. Tim is very close to his sisters and it was obvious throughout the day that his sisters adored him. Seeing these families brought together for this celebration of Rachel and Tim – it was obvious the day was about the combination of these families and not just the celebration of the bride and groom. When Tim and Rachel gave their speeches they made it very clear they wouldn’t be where they were if it wasn’t for the amazing people around them who loved them unconditionally throughout their journeys and helped mold each of them into who they are.
A little about the day? Well. Rachel said “she just wanted a big cookout celebration with her friends and family”… so that’s what they did! Her dad stayed up all night roasting a pig everyone got to enjoy, which made it feel like a big family cookout. The day was capped off with some heartfelt speeches by Rachels dad, best friend Natalie, and Tim’s three sisters. Later a surprise performance that took a few technical difficulties to get through, but it started the dance party! Here’s a few of some of our favorites from this wonderful day.
