The first time I met Neel and Shweta talking about their wedding it quickly turned into talking about ice cream and legos, and from that moment I knew photographing their love would be a blast. We did their engagement pictures at Duke Chapel followed by ice cream at the Parlour (duh), and legos came back around as their wedding favors to their wedding guests- a make your own Lego flower bouquet all hand built by the couple! Of course we snagged a few.
This past weekend, their friends and family gathered for two days of celebrating this fabulous duo. Their sweet Sangeet celebration on Saturday evening was full of singing, dancing and laughter as their loved ones shared special performances and speeches detailing their love of the couple. Neel’s brother, who could not make the trip from India, recorded a very special speech that was played for everyone to hear, bringing tears to the peoples eyes. Everybody then gathered on the dance floor to party the night away before getting some rest for Sunday morning’s festivities!
Sunday’s baraat was full of joy and celebration as the groom made his way to the bride’s family to be blessed and welcomed prior to their beautiful Hindu wedding ceremony. Capturing the beautiful details of their two families cultural wedding traditions melding was very special.
The whole weekend was full of touching emotion and moments to capture. Neel and Shweta thank you so much for allowing us to capture your special celebration, here are a few of our favorites.
